Phoneography Challenge~Nature’s Confusion

leafedited

A dried leaf found on a walk just last week; a leaf amidst a pile of brothers fallen and swirling around the street. Northern California weather has truly confused the trees. Many still with leaves fallen, and branches bared as if it was November; yet others bursting into bloom.  We’ve had daytime temperatures in the high 70’s, and spring is definitely on our minds. Yet the sun falls, and the nights become quite chilly. Nature has also deigned to withhold rain from us again, with not one drop falling in the entire month of January. The magnificent rains we had in December are but a memory, and we’re back on drought status.

I made the photo of two different leaves shown here using a Samsung Galaxy, and edited with Snapseed and Pixlr Express.

Very cool shots. Tell me something? I’ve resisted learning Photoshop and Light Room because they seem to need a huge learning curve. Are the two edit tools you used easier, quicker?

I also have resisted photoshop and Lightroom for the same reasons, and also prefer a more natural look. I use phone apps, or PicMonkey which is free. I used PicMonkey to convert the photo to b&w and that’s the onlyedit I did. Thanks.

I judt realized I was thinking this comment was on day 4. For the one you speak of the two apps I used are free and super easy.

We’d be happy to share our snow…it will be melted by the time it gets to you! I love the colours and textures. I really enjoyed the different angles that used for your photos.

  12. Angeline, all are examples of nature’s mixtures of hues, lines, patterns, shapes and tones. Indeed they remind me of our autumn long gone. We’ve had an abundance of water (rain) this winter, and I do wish that I could send you a months worth. It’s such a contrast between coasts that you are so far behind in the water levels, and we are overflowing ours. Happy Photo Challenge.
