Following along with Sally at Lens and Pens by Sally today, who spearheads the weekly Phoneography and Non-SLR Photo Challenge, and thinking about light refraction in nature, I began to think of light’s refraction at sunset in the twilight hour. Having just recently spent eight glorious sunsets on the island of Oahu, there is much to ponder about the differing colors each evening depending on the atmosphere having its way with bending the rays of diminishing light…and bending my mind with the beauty.
Very dramatic shot

Beautiful! Love the painting like quality Angeline. And that gorgeous blue sky.

Thanks, Madhu. I pretty much just lightened up the photo as I had taken it with no flash. That seemed to work!

I also like the Impressionistic look of this. I get that sometimes involuntarily on photos from my iPhone and iPad. Sometimes I’m glad; sometimes annoyed that the photo I wanted didn’t turn out. 🙂 The look works well for your photo.

Thanks, Janet. I do like how it turned out. I didn’t use a flash, so it was initially really dark. Brightening it up was pretty much all it needed, IMO.
Glad you like it.

Love the light of a sunrise or sunset on a waterfront. It’s truly magical and you’ve captured it quite well, here, Angeline.

Thanks, John. You can be pretty sure when you see my photos that it will be a sunset 🙂
Can’t seem to pull myself out of bed for those sunrise moments; I look at other photographer’s photos of sunrises to enjoy the lovely morning hours virtually.

I never thought I had a favorite color. I think you just made me realize that blue is it. Between the ocean and sky that I love to take photos of, I guess many shades have come across in my photos over the years. Thanks, Carol!

Angeline, I adore the subtle impressionistic quality of this twilight image, and I also enjoyed your connection to my post. The ” bending” of wavelengths of light provides an abundance of pleasure, and your capture shows one of them. Happy Photo Challenge.
