Weekly Photo Challenge~Humanity;Surviving

humanity1

Humanity must march to try to save itself somedays

humanity2

Incredible to think that something as basic as our food is being tinkered with and being taken away from us in its natural form

humanity3

Thirdeyemom, states in the lead challenge this week, in part, “…we all share common hopes and dreams of love, family, and survival”.

I’ve run a couple of these photos before, but it just seemed to fit the topic.

  3. Angeline, thanks for beautifully highlighting a very important issue. I’m not one to be automatically against big business, but I think Monsanto is the devil. The destruction of heirloom varieties of foods is horrible and something that needs to be addressed yesterday.

I’m glad I posted this, Janet. It is something that needs to be brought to the fore over and over again to inform more and more people. We need to be aware, and take measures to protect our families.

Great entry Angeline.Very relevant and topical. Monsanto needs lessons in humanity. Farmer suicides are a huge issue here. Governments mouth sympathy but don’t really seem to be bothered.

Gorgeous Angeline! I love your take on the theme. Yes, it is sickening to think of all the junk they put in our food these days. What really bugs me is all the high frutose corn syrup and added sugars! It is so sad. Lovely take!

High fructose corn syrup is bad, bad, bad! And I can’t believe how prevalent it is in almost everything on store shelves. I study the ingredient labels on foods for this all the time to try to keep it out of our eating. Thanks, Nicole.

Don’t you think that is a huge part of our obesity epidemic? So many people just don’t understand nutrition and read the labels. Nutrition courses should be mandatory and these companies are terrible to put this garbage in our food!

I do think it is part of our obesity epidemic! We all need to inform ourselves and be aware of everything these days to protect ourselves and our families. I also think it is something that effects some of the ADHD problems in our children.

I enjoyed reading your response to this week’s challenge Angeline. Personally I wish the scientists would stop tinkering with our food as I do not believe it to be good for our health.

This is such an important topic, Angeline, so good on you for airing it. The problem is even worse in the developing world where small-holder farmers get tied into Monsanto deals, and can’t save crop seed from year to year as they did before, or grow their own endemic crop species which means a loss of possibly very good local varieties the suit their locale, as well as a loss to the world’s seed bank. Dr. Mecola on http://www.mercola.com has a lot of up to date info on the dangers of GMOs.
