Project 365, Day 284; It’s All Raw Today

I’ve worked at this 365 project consistently; there are eighty days to go. What I found myself thinking today is that I’ve changed a lot in 284 days. I began this project as a total novice, with a stiff conviction that I didn’t like all the post processing that I slowly began to realize most everyone does. I thought I would only present raw photos, no post processing. “Raw”….I’m even learning the lingo.

And then, I started learning about the filters and apps on my iPhone, and I began to experiment. I felt a jolt of extra creativity. I began to feel that maybe I was creating what could be considered art. I then found an online photo processing site for my photos taken with my Olympus and then Canon cameras. Wow, the things you can do.

And I’ve read photography blogs, posts, internet articles, and I keep learning.  About composition, light, and perspective.

The most incredible feeling of all is seeing almost everything in my path as a photograph.

I saw the results of the Capture The Color photography contest winners today, and was, at first, a little depressed at the beauty of the photographs that won, that they were leaps above what I had submitted; I had thoughts of who do I think I am trying to pass off my “photography” as photography, and maybe I should just call it a wrap.

But my thoughts soon turned to the learning, the continual making yourself, your work, better. Slowly moving forward. Always seeking beauty. Always seeing beauty.
