I’m having a great time playing with the iPhone app, Snapseed. It’s a change for me, and definitely fun to see what you can do with a raw photo. I thought I’d show you some before and after shots I’ve taken.
The Door
Lamp Post
This app gives you great creative license to add color and drama and “grunge”, or a vintage look, to your liking. I don’t think I’ll use it a lot, but here and there for some fun.
Huge step-up well done. You have just opened the door to more creativity.

Not free, but it was either 99 cents or $4.99…I got Snapseed and Camera+ so I can’t remember which cost what.

Thanks Loretta. I walk by that house every day and finally went up to the door and took those photos yesterday.

I could get addicted to something like that. You make it look so fun. I already have an addiction to photoshop and most recently, Pinterest. I better not buy that!

I’ve tried photoshop…it always seemed daunting to me, don’t know why…now I will check that out too. Pinterest is another one I need to find out about, just got an invite.

I was until it went berserk a couple of weeks ago…for about the fourth time and I decided I’d had it. It was good when it worked. I’ve now joined the iPhone happy camp!

I hate the purist view that you shot what you see and get it right in the camera, limiting post processing. The principle is fine and for news images you cannot make them lie. But lets create images with style and feeling and that is what you have done. I do hope you will use it not just for fun but to add that extra to an image. I like! The Door my favourite of the three.

Thanks David, I appreciate your compliment!I thought I was a total purist….until I found out what one can do with post processing. The Door is the one that has huge symbolism for me what with all the home foreclosure issues over here in the US of A.

Understood and it isn’t much better over here in the U.K.

+1 for post processing. Photography is a creative art, and digital photography is made for a bit of post processing.

Thanks Gary! And thanks for getting me started on the photo a day; that’s what has opened my creative eye that I didn’t know was there.

Agreed….and of course for some the extremes (if that is what some call them) are a creative artform in there own right. Good luck to all.
