The Days Grow Shorter

I take a short daily walk at noon to stretch my legs, and a second longer one after finishing up my day of sitting at the computer. I walk through the neighborhood, and have been looking at the Halloween decorations in front of homes; they’re pretty scary if you ask me.

Yesterday evening the wind was blowing a bit, and dry leaves made a rustling sound and skittered along the street; the daylight waned and I picked up my pace to get home before dark thinking “what am I, seven?” But those decorations were scary.

This is my favorite time of year too. Halloween stuff hits the stores in late summer and Christmas stuff hits the stores at Halloween time….pretty soon it will all come together as one. That should be interesting!

  2. Yep, they are scary.,. What happened to the timeless scarecrow and jack-o-lantern? This morning, I brought my son to school and it was really cold. Somehow I felt mix emotions. I miss our Summer fun but at the same time the cold weather reminds me of cozing up on warm blankets and hot choco. May be I was being sentimental today. Beautiful post as always. Have a blessed day my friend. Best wishes to your family.

That’s exactly what I was thinking…where are the kinda fun/silly Halloween decorations? I’m not sure how really little kids feel about some of these, but then I guess some see way worse on TV. Have a great day and wishes for time to cozy up with the hot chocolate with your family!
