Northern California’s Central Valley. Fall colors that are a bit different from what one thinks of in general when contemplating autumn. There are leaves of gold and red in places, yes, but it is the sky and the barren fields having been made ready for winter, the signs of life slowing down, pulling back for a while to rest, that are the colors of fall for me.
If you click on the photo for a full screen view, you will get a little bit more of the feel for my neck of the woods.
I love the pleasing pastels. Must be more restful than the explosion of colours during this season elsewhere.

Argh! You made me wish California. I don’t care if the mountains are bald. Still so pretty. 😀

California dreamin’….all the leaves of brown…on a winter’s day. You made me think of the song from the Mamas and the Papas. Now that will be going through my head all day 🙂

It really is wonderful in fall when we have more cloudy days, a little relief from the blasting sun of summer out there. I shall enjoy it very much. Thanks, Patti, as always, for stopping in. And autumn in New York seems beautiful from photos I’ve seen.

Hm, the closing down of the land for winter. Very evocative photo and especially good full screen.

Thank you Tish. Glad you opened it up for the full view. The fields are so busy once spring hits, that this is a true indication that winter is coming.

Slowing down slowly this year with temperatures that went back up to pretty warm lately, but now going back down. This field is right across the street from the little group of homes I live in.
