It was a pleasure to arrive in Mexico City at the end of this last November. A pleasure to return to a place I spent many of my summers growing up. Family living there wrapped me into their lives as a child of their own. It became home for three months a year; those memories will never dissipate. Part of the family lived right in the City, and another contingent lived in Coyoacán.
It was one cousin from the Coyoacán family that organized this reunion, and rented an AirBnb there not far from where they lived. A perfect location for walking most places.

Yes, cobblestone streets and colorful homes in the neighborhood we stayed in. Actually most of the neighborhoods look similar in Coyoacán.

The 7Eleven around the corner helped us quickly pick up a few kitchen necessities after we arrived. But just a 15 minute walk got us to the central area of town.

We were lucky enough to be there as festivities began to ramp up for Día de Los Muertos/Day of The Dead. I’ll have more on that next week. And I’ll close this week out with a mural that was at the beginning of the street where we stayed

Got to love those bright Mexican colors!
Makes me want to go back!

I do love the bright Mexican colors. Painting our houses and other buildings bright colors would be a nice tradition to start up here, I think.

Thanks, TG. It would be a nice thing here in the States, but I have a feeling it wouldn’t be a popular thing.

Yeah, for some reason we’re partial to earth tones. Earth tones look kind of drab, to me.

Yup, hard for some to stray from the straight and narrow.
