The Sunday Traveler~The Jewel in The Crown

The Sunday Traveler picks up where I left off last week, an afternoon at San Francisco’s Legion of Honor Museum, and promising to pick up with the last jewel in the crown of that afternoon.

Leaving the museum through the front portico,  we walked quickly to our car in a side parking area of the museum to get to Ocean Beach, very nearby, for what was promising to be a nice sunset.

The museum sits in a lovely wooded area with fantastic views all around, but we had our sights set on a beach view for the sunset. The sun had just set when we rounded the curve to Ocean Beach.

My favorite time, really, the sun has already gone, and the colors are what is left of the day.

Friends meeting to talk or just be in that wonderful spot by the ocean at day’s end.

As we walked back to our car and the evening light deepened, a car with a boombox on its roof that had been playing some gentle love songs, began playing the Ave Maria; chills went up my spine with the combination of the beauty of the colors in the sky that had been unfolding in front of my eyes, at the beauty of the universe in those few moments that I was able to be a part of, and that song giving praise.

Sometimes there is magic.

Oh for those colors, Angelina! Oh yes there sometimes is magic! I agree! Goosebumps covered me when I read the part about Ava Maria. It also looks cold there. I’m surprised being it San Francisco. Thank you so much for showing me these shots of the ocean. I loved them!! xo

Looks like you had the right kind of night sky to help your camera. Makes me want to go to the beach.
