Northern California had a hint of spring about a week ago, and I lost no time in going to a local garden center to commune with nature in all its color and beauty. I believe this is a magnolia blossom, but I’m not sure I’m correct on that.
The photo was taken with my iPhone 6Plus in Camera+ and edited in Mextures, an in camera app.

Angeline, it does resemble a magnolia blossom, but I also have only seen white ones or some with pinkish tints going through them. It’s lovely and one of spring’s true gems. Happy Photo Challenge.

Thanks, Sally. It was a lighter pink, the Mextures intensified it. When I looked up images of magnolia blossoms online I saw only white, so I wondered about this.

I’ve never seen any magnolia color aside from white. Aside from the color, I’ve never seen a magnolia flower of that shape either. Gotta be something else.
