A Peace Lily, bloom facing out toward the sun. I didn’t realize they are something that seem to be the thing sent for memorials. I received several, and contemplate their message as they turn to the light.
Photo taken with an iPhone 6Plus, with edits in Camera+, transition to black and white made in PicMonkey.

A fantastic photo Angeline ~ and B&W and contrasts, along with it simply being a beautiful flower with great character make it perfect.

Very touching image with many meanings. FYI Angelina, for some reason WordPress blocks your posts and comments on my site so I miss out on you a lot. I’ll try to catch up with you on Sally’s site.

Thanks, Carol. Have to wonder why that is happening! I hadn’t been posting much until recently, though.

That is a classical photograph, gorgeously lit and with a beautiful tonal gradation.

Beautifully done Angeline. I love the peace lily. The starkness of the black and white edit and your words make it even more evocative.

I love the way this could almost be any beautiful shape. The B&W makes the shape the thing.

Thanks, Janet. Very true…it’s the shape and the lines that drew my eye in.

Beautiful, Angeline. It wouldn’t be nearly so special if it were in full color. In this case, less is truly more.

The black and white just gave this a sense of majesty in my mind. They are such simple, yet beautiful blooms. Thanks, John. And by the way, made your Spaghetti alla Gricia last night… Also dimple, but delicious!

Thanks, Nicole. I’m hanging in there. Some days hard, and some not so much. I’ll get through this. I know I will.

Angeline, the one leaf is an ethereal reminder of the life cycle, and I know that it must have special meaning for you. Your capture and conversion to monochrome strips it down to reveal its messages, which evoke emotion and nature’s hand in our lives. Well done. Happy Photo Challenge.
