I leave the year 2015 without the man who was my husband, and enter a new year in search of my path. That we have only today has never been so strongly embossed on my mind as it has been in the months preceding A’s death on 20 December. Diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in June of this year, we knew the clock was ticking. Time? We stopped knowing what that meant, stopped looking at clocks and watches and dove into the days as they came, into each moment we were given.
Let us begin the new year going forward with love, for that is all that matters.

Angeline, my heart broke reading your words and seeing the photo through your eyes. I pray God’s loving arms wrap tightly around you and don’t let you go, especially on the difficult days, and that you will be surrounded by friends and family to give that love human form.

You know how I feel about this, having been there myself….and I agree with you – if there is one startling message delivered with the death of a loved one it is that we have only NOW. If there is one way to honor a death it is to live with optimism and enthusiasm again, using the NOW to its full extent. I learned that lesson back in 2010 with my loss, and I was fortunate enough to surround myself with people who are the poster people for living in the NOW. For your own health and peace of mind please try to do that too…it will heal you. Love you – jo
