I drove out onto the back roads in the hills around me yesterday for a little peace and contemplation. The hills never fail to provide me with a sense of serenity. As per my usual routine, I get in the car and just drive, letting my muse lead me to find the location I need to be in to find that peace and beauty.
There are pockets of green in the little valleys, and bits of water that remain from the last rain we had. Those bits of green are quickly disappearing.

You took these shots with a phone? These shots are gorgeous, colorful, clear. What phone? I just bought my first smartphone…haven’t take a photo yet. But that’s the main reason I bought it. That, and for travel.

Thanks, badfish. I used an iPhone 6 Plus for these photos. I just got it a couple of weeks ago, and the capabilities with the camera are incredible.

Yes! I wish I was more inspired to do that myself. I think I’ve been here too long sometimes as I never feel motivated to take many pictures in my hometown except of my family!

It seems that you’re out on the road a lot; but I remember some photos from your blog a couple of years ago or so of photos you took around the lake in winter with all the snow. Needless to say, that impressed me, and I wondered how you got out in all that snow.

Well, the only way to live in MN is get out in the winter and embrace the snow, hail, cold and heat! 🙂

Thanks, Janet. I fear there will be no more rains. Our usual rainy season is winter; but, we’ve had a couple of rogue little rains recently that may indicate our seasonal rain time is changing.

Angeline, you found a perfect place for a respite. I did notice those “golden” hills, as they’re called when the rain has eluded them. But they are equally lovely to behold. You are fortunate to have such beauty nearby. Happy Photo Challenge.

Thank you, Sally. Yes, the golden hills are just as beautiful to me as when they’re green; each brings its own beauty. I do count myself as blessed to live here and have this beauty all around.
