It is with an exultant heart that I begin anew with mobile photography using a new iPhone. I am re-familiarizing myself with settings, etc., and spent the day yesterday at Bodega Bay on the Sonoma Coast here in Northern California. It was a dream day with the iPhone that I just purchased last Wednesday. The photo above was taken in Camera+ with the only edit being the addition of a tonal filter. It was a foggy day for the most part, and the next two photos I will show have no edits at all; also taken with Camera+
There was much joy with these little girls playing on the beach
I am beside myself with excitement with this new camera, and all that it can do. I already told my husband I would be useless for the next several weeks as I run amok taking photos and putting new apps and edits to the test.

Oh I just love these pics! The last one is superb .. and I was umming and ahhing about buying a new mobile phone .. But you have nailed it for me .. is this an iPhone 6? If it is it looks fabulous ..

Thanks, Julie. My contract was up on the old phone, and I just had to go back to the iPhone (had one a couple of years ago). I have the 6 plus. Thought it might feel strange in my hand because it is a little larger than the 6, but it feels normal and is easy to hold and handle.

Snapseed is my go to for edits. There are so many wonderful apps for iPhone out there, and that is another reason I wanted to come back to it. For black and white Ansel seems to be one a lot of people are using, I’ve just tried it once so far and like it. I got my phone through the carrier we have for our phone service, I was due for an upgrade due to old phone contract expiration, so got a good deal on new phone. I’m sure I would not have gotten this deal at the Apple Store.

Friends from our past got married at that little church on the hill in Bodega Bay (the one used in Hitchcock’s The Birds). I envy your living in California:0)). That second picture is so atmospheric! Great stuff (I like my iPhone camera too and have been taking pictures of clouds for a painting – so simple).

Thanks, Sue. I’m so excited because my old Samsung did a pretty good job with its camera, but that phone was on its last leg getting stuck and frozen whenever it felt the need to take a rest…was driving me nuts. And I’m smiling too 🙂
