Phoneography Challenge ~ Macro in Pink

As promised last week, here is another look at a different flower, a bud, from the same tree as last week’s tulip-magnolia mystery flower. I’ve chosen to show you this edited photo that I cropped substantially, and of course increased color a bit to brighten it up.

      Thanks, Janet. I had initially planned on showing only the uncropped photo, but wasn’t happy with it, so I kept working on it until I realized what cropping could do.

      Thanks, Susan. I’ve had a few years now just taking loads of photos with my phone, and I think lots of practice helps. I finally broke down, though and started an online course in iPhoneography.

    Love the flower, Angeline. Great edit that enhances the overall feel of the photo. Did you increase the saturation levels. I think a flower like this looks great with increased saturation. Love the clean bold colour.

    Angeline, your close up demonstrates (as you and I know) that even the budding stage of flowers and trees are magical visions on the landscape. Spread across an entire tree, they are striking. As a singular bud they startle us, because we notice nuances of the unfurling and the forecast of what is to come. Happy Photo Challenge.

      Thanks, Felipe. There is no difference at all except for seeing what cropping can do to bring the subject up for closer inspection, and remove all other distraction.
