The Sunday Traveler ~ San Francisco Ain’t Bad

umbrellaembarcaderoincolor2final

The Sunday Traveler hangs out in San Francisco quite a bit; whenever possible as a matter of fact. Thirty minutes from the suburb I live in to this incredible City by the Bay full of color and life.  Herb Caen, a beloved newspaperman of the San Francisco Chronicle once said “One day, if I do go to heaven, I’ll look around and say ‘it ain’t bad, but it ain’t San Francisco’ “.  Herb’s in heaven now, and I swear that man in my photo looks like that might be Herb, back for a little visit.

You have captured a beautiful day in SF. The colors remind me of walking down Market St from the Ferry Building where all of the street vendors setup shop. Ω

Oops! I see it’s a photo. It has a painterly feel to it–especially the umbrella and fringe.

It’s a photograph I made; actually took it with my phone’s camera and edited to amp up the color of the umbrella. Thanks, Patti. I am just about to venture out to trying my hand at painting…I’m pretty good at stick figures 🙂
