An old-time car wash that we used to frequent many years ago was recently re-visited now that we’ve moved back to the same area. It hasn’t changed one iota. Amazing after 30 some years.
I was attracted to the light coming in from the decaying ceiling, highlighting the spray of water, and the pipes. The light was just fantastic!
It’s the cheapest car wash in town, and I’ll be going back because of that, and to get more photos; I know there are more waiting for me there.
Photo taken with a Samsung Galaxy, with edits in Snapseed.

Love the sweeping and dramatic action in these shots, and great colour blocks!

Thanks, Patti. Yes, I loved the action of the blue strips swooshing over the car, and the water shooting down and all over. The light helped with those colors!

I love those old car washes! I remember being so amazed, back in the 1970s, 60s?, when I visited my first one as a child. Cool pics!

Cool shots … You did a great job of showcasing the water drenching the car. We hand wash my car. I’m always concerned about unnecessary scratches. Fun post!!!!:D

Very cool, Angeline. I took photos at a car wash while inside the van and that was fun, too. Of course, the van was auto-directed, so it was safe. Have to try doing some editing with that. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks, Janet. I went through one of those a few years ago and took a photo of the windshield as soap hit it…it was a great photo lost somewhere in an old phone!

Angeline, just proves that the ordinary can become so much more. Well done. Please do return to show more views of this piece of the everyday. The first and last are especially engaging. But the last one gets my vote for its abstract quality and composition. What fun… Happy Photo Challenge.

Thanks so much, Sally. With all the pollen from the pine trees I will be making many visits there. And in case anyone is wondering, they use recycled water (our drought is back to a doomsday level). This place brought out the excitement in my creative soul like no other in awhile; funny how the ordinary can do that.
