Phoneography Challenge~Nature In A Flower Shop

The New Year begins with the weekly phoneography challenge brought together by Sally Donatello at Lens and Pens by Sally. The first Monday of the month is all about nature.

I began using my Samsung Galaxy more than ever at Christmas time, when I took this photo in a San Francisco flower shop;  and just returned from a trip to Las Vegas where I purposefully did not take my DSLR, and decided to see what I could do with just my phone. It turns out quite a lot, and this may be my trend for the year.

This is an amazing photo. We’re an android family and there don’t seem to be quite as many gadgets available as for the iphones – but you’ve done this really well on the Galaxy. (What app did you use?)

Thanks,Margaret! I agree about seemingly fewer android apps than there are for the iPhone, and having prevously owned an iPhone, I get a bit frustrated sometimes. For this photo I used Snapseed, which really covers a big area for creative post processing.

  7. Angeline, this has a sci-fi feel to it as well as the under-the-sea vibe. Lovely! I use my iPhone 5S almost exclusively for my photos and almost every photo on my blog is taken with it. So easy to carry!! 🙂 You’re going to have a blast with yours.

  10. Angeline, lovely textures of sea life. It seems that my iPhone 6 is a more constant companion than my DSLR. I know exactly what you are implying. By the way, there are so many accessories for this technology. The capabilities are increasing with external lenses almost available for the 6, which I will get. I have a gadget that allows me to use my real tripod with the iPhone. There are such incremental changes in quality plus the obvious convenience. My best to you for a calm and serene New Year, and many new discoveries now that you live in the Bay area. Happy Photo Challenge.

This cacti does look like a sea anemone. I am hoping to make the switch to an iPhone six in the summer, and cannot wait to get back to the iPhone camera.
Thanks for the good wishes for the New Year, and may you also have a year filled with making beautiful photographs.
