This week’s challenge set forth over on Lens and Pens by Sally, is for post processing and edits. Sally has said that “This week’s challenge involves editing and processing, which can be joyful and frustrating. Usually, the clear choice is not to reduce the integrity of the original. But our current app-ladened world provides a chemical-free darkroom on my iPhone 6. I can take magical trips in the comfort of a cozy chair, and reinvent an image. I can experiment and notice possibilities that either fortify reality or challenge it.” I so agree.
I can be lured into the vibrancy of color with not much prodding, but when I dabble in monochrome lately I begin to wonder about the vibrancy of black and white.

I love the colors, Angeline but it’s always fun to see an image in both color and b&w. Sometimes new elements show up with a few simple changes.

I see you’re having fun with the latest iPhone, Angeline. I have to go with color for this, too. The contrast of the orange fish with the flower and water is just too good to change. Looking back yet again, I think that the B&W would work better if there were no fish. The flower stands out nicely but the fish is somewhat lost.

I wish I had an iPhone…I have a Samsung/Droid. When my contract is up I’m going back to the iPhone. The poor fish did disappear, and B&W just doesn’t work for this. But, I tried it out and got good feedback from everyone. Thanks, Janet, and Happy Thanksgiving.

The Galaxy has gotten reviews even better than the iPhone, although I don’t know about the 6, and its camera is supposed to be great!

That’s what I’ve heard. I do like the camera, but just can’t seem to find the apps that are available for the iPhone. I’ve been lazy about searching, though. So there’s something for me to work on.

I must confess that I like the first the best. It makes the flower pop and stand as the main subject. It also has a layer of softening that gives slightly more details than the others. Happy Photo Challenge.

Sorry but when it comes to photos like that …. B&W… is just not in the same class as the colour… and thats a very vibrant and beautifully coloured photo…. maybe you should try converting the less colourful photos…. that one is too good to change….

This was a true test for me, trying to get out of my color box, but every time I do, I have feelings of apprehension. Taking color away is extremely hard for me, but I need to experiment. I’m glad you gave me good, honest feedback, bulldog. Thank you!
