This photo has such a different look to it…. something stands out in the B&W that might not do so in colour… it is a good choice for the challenge, a good photo, I think I would love to know what settings you used on the original photo, specially your shutter speed and did you use a tripod ??

I shot this photo with my smart phone, a Samsung Android. No tripod, I used the zoom feature to come in close. I converted it from color to black and white in PicMonkey. The B&W did change the look especially of the water coming down on the right side of the fountain, that kind of jagged look.

I cannot put my finger on what fascinates me about the photo, just that it is a beaut and has a certain mystique to it… I think it’s a brilliant photo… so whatever you did it turned out damn good….

Wow and thank you, bulldog. I know I increased shadows in the edit. I’ve been working on that more after reading an article on using shadows to increase depth.

Thanks, Lisa. The fountain was surrounded by people all around, but yet, it was peaceful.

Angeline, that looks so cool in B&W and, I imagine, very different from the color version!

Engaging for its patina of the past–a vintage image. Happy Photo Challenge.
