Wonderfully done, Angeline. 🙂 I can’t remember the last time I was on a carousel. I might have to see if I can find one, just for the fun of it.

I never think black and white but I do like carousels, Angeline 🙂 There was a great one in Paris, close to the Eiffel Tower.

I really resisted converting this to black and white; I just love color so much, but I’m making myself experiment a bit more. I’m glad I did. I’ve seen photos of the one in Paris; now that one I would love to photograph!

  10. I’d know that carousel any where. You captured a magical view of it. I’m trying to figure out where you were standing to take it.

Unbelievably, this carousel is inside the mall in Tracy. The mall here is pretty sad, but the carousel redeems it all 🙂 I couldn’t believe it when we first moved here and I saw it. Are you thinking of the one in Tilden Park?

  12. It’s gorgeous, Angeline. It’s interesting how effective it is in monotone – especially the strong contrasts of the ‘zebra’, racing off on its own. 🙂

Thanks, M. Monotone, and how it effects a photo, is becoming more and more intriguing to me. It’s such a push pull for me to think about taking color away. And that zebra does look like it’s about to veer off to the right!

  13. The light is great and the carousel looks much better in B&W than I would have imagined. Glad you played with that.

  14. Brings back fond memories! If you’d like to see a real B&W horse, from an African safari, Angeline, take a peek at some of the photos shared at Penguin Ponderings blog. Nothing beats the real thing, right? 🙂

  21. Nicely captured and made more powerful in monochrome. Really enjoyed the way the contrasts and tones play against each other. Happy Photo Challenge.
