Phoneography Challenge, Nature; On The BackRoads

byronrdbarn

Nature whizzing by at 55 miles per hour. Nature pushed back off the road. Dried grasses, scrub brush, a barn just waiting there amidst the trees. I’m leaving the immediate rural area I live in soon, not too far away, though; but I’m already feeling melancholic. A short drive back will be all I need for a boost of backroads nature. I never thought I’d miss it.

Love this, Angeline. It reminds my of my first trip down the back roads of Michigan when I return home each Spring. It’s a different kind of welcoming but a good one, nonetheless.

  2. Angeline, almost all the shots in my post today of our trip to Wyoming are taken from a (fast) moving van. Sometime they work beautifully, sometimes they’re just blur. But they continue to beg to be taken and all too often the perfect shot comes when I’m driving and can’t take it or I’m not ready. I enjoyed yours.

Thanks, Janet, glad you enjoyed the shot. I almost always have luck with a clear photo from the car. And you’re so right, when you’re the one driving there is always that one shot that you wish you could get. I’ll be over to visit your post.

An amazing shot at that speed!!! Good that you will not be too far away to get your pretty rural landscape fix 🙂

Thanks, Madhu. I am lucky that we are moving just over the “hill”, about 30 miles away (we go back and forth on weekends now anyway, so it will seem like nothing to come back to visit).

Thanks, Carol. I’ve never been able to get an unblurred shot using my dslr in the car because of the movement from bumps in the road, but this doesn’t seem to affect the phone’s camera.

  9. Your image has a vintage quality, reminding me that rural life was once praised for promoting self-reliance. Do not ask what prompted my response; it’s simply my reaction. Happy Photo Challenge.

The area around where I live, all these rural areas, are pretty old places, ranches and farms. When I look at this barn back by itself, I can get a gist of that response. Thanks, Sally.
