What a wonderful feeling of summer laziness . . .

Clever processing Angeline. You worked in mood and nostalgia! Reminds me of my childhood home somehow, even though there isn’t much architectural resemblance!

It’s funny how when I start processing a photo I sometimes end up with not what I originally intended. It’s still a battle sometimes between color and sepia or monochrome. I liked what came out of this one too. Thanks.

Can I just say when I first looked at this picture, the theme to the Walton’s immediately played in my head (that trumpet part in the beginning)
Nice shot and I suppose this gives away my age šŸ™‚

A beautiful memory on a sad day. Live well, Angeline! What else can we do?

Thanks, Jo. It has been a sad day, my heart has been heavy. We must go on, and remember that we should live life to the fullest, and enjoy all of our friends always, never knowing when they will be no more. Sending you a hug, and love.

  6. Like your choice of post-processing. The use of monochrome gives the image a “summer resort” feel as found in homes by lakes.

Thanks, Aart. The monochrome/vintage edit I used makes it look older than it is. I took this photo a couple of years ago. The cottages are older buildings, though. These strollers aren’t seen too much around here, but I do have one in the trunk of my car for when I have a grandchild with me.

  8. I love this place – it reminds me of somewhere I have been – maybe a vacation house when I was a kid. Myrtle Beach? Somewhere by the sea.

Yes, by the sea is where I saw this; in a little town on Kauai. I loved the tire swing, and just the general look of a laid back life style. So Hawaiian to me.
