Ohashi this is called I’m told by a Japanese friend; a bridge. A twist to chopsticks when there are none delivered with the take-out.

The ohashi? No, that means a bridge between two things, so I’m told. The forks held backwards? Yes, I made that up as a joke when my daughter wanted to practice her skills with chopsticks and we didn’t have any 🙂

Necessity is the Mother of chopsticks! I was stuck in a Tokyo hotel once with a late night instant ramen and no ohashi. I found 2 toothbrushes in my travel bag and flipped them around like in the photo. It worked. Oishii kata!
