Happy Mother’s Day.
It is at times like this that I realize the incredible weight of being a mother. The responsibility and care necessary to feed the blooms that you have brought into this world, to care for them tenderly, and always, in order to help them realize the glory that they are.
I have three sons and one daughter. The daughter currently being buffeted by the gale force winds of the storms of life that can appear in the sky, as a tornado does, dark and threatening. She is the daughter of whom I wrote in Black Friday. The daughter who having come through this storm, only to be met by another to test her resolve; she was just recently diagnosed with breast cancer, caught in its early stages, and should be fine. She, and we, are currently wrapped up in surgeries and treatment.
It is with this that I explain some absences on my part here, and lack of attention to all of my friends here on WordPress. I will be posting short little snippets and solo photos that I capture through my lens in the coming weeks, always trying to see the beauty, even in dark and threatening skies.
Photo above taken yesterday in a hospital patio. How appropriate, I thought, for Mother’s Day.
Much warmth from Sicily. Wish a lot of good things to you and your daughter in this difficult times.

Dear Angeline. I am sooooo sorry your daughter has to weather this. It must be very scary for you as well, when our children are under sort of threat it is worse than if it was us. Take gentle care of her and yourself and know we are all out here…sending you the biggest cyber hugs we can manage.

Your photo of the sculpture is very beautiful. Sometimes it is very difficult to watch our children face the challenges of life, knowing that we are limited in our ability to help and support, and at times the challenges are terrible. My best wishes to you and your loved ones, to your daughter, for strength, health and happiness. There are ups and downs in life. May you soon reach a better stage, and find consolation for your losses. I have a strong feeling, from experience, that this stage will be followed by building and growth, and that soon you will be able to share inspiration too.
