This was on a registration table at an art show I was at Saturday. A simple spring arrangement of flowers; the Snapdragon was just showing off.
Nature can be such a show-offy kind of gal. That famous Altamont Pass I’ve shown photos of before is also in full spring regalia; with the recent rain blessings we’ve received, the Altamont is stunning right now. It’s hard to drive over this pass and not be absolutely in awe of the beauty.
More on nature can be found today at Lens and Pens by Sally and her Phoneography and Non-SLR Devices Photo Challenge.
My photos today taken with a Samsung Galaxy Express phone.
Nature really IS a showoff! and isn’t it great that we can appreciate it and record it? Snapdragon is such a sassy name for a flower. Love it.

I am ever so grateful that I started up with photography, I see and appreciate more than I ever did. Yes, if I should ever get another dog I shall name her Snapdragon 🙂

Your comment about that shot of the countryside reminds me of traveling to Michigan. Each time, the landscape has changed a bit with the passing of the seasons. Like your photo, Angeline, it’s really quite beautiful.

Thanks, John. The changes with the seasons are dramatic, and it’s beautiful no matter what.

Show off indeed it is. Lovely images. That field of cows and wind turbines feel very peaceful.

Thanks, Otto. Even though traffic is whizzing by those fields of cows at 70 and 80 miles an hour over the pass, they are unaware of humanity’s hurry. It does seem peaceful on those hills.

Thanks! We drive over them quite a bit, and I never tire of their beauty now in spring, or as they become golden and dry in summer.

That snapdragon is out of control! I’ve always liked them, but really, their colours have traditionally been deep rather than in-your-face vibrancy! A new variety, perhaps?

Ha! That’s pretty much what I thought when I saw it. The colors right now in all the flowers are just over the top! I’m not sure where this one came from, but it looked like a bouquet from someone’s garden.

A trend in corporate decoration, maybe? I’m glad you’re having a colourful time Angeline 🙂

aloha AngelineM. i particularly like the snapdragon photo. the blossom draped over the edge of black like that creates a question of mystery for me. in many ways it reflects the human condition (imo). i like that a lot. aloha

Aloha Rick. Thank you for stopping to comment. I couldn’t believe how nice the registration committee was to have a black tablecloth on the table to enhance my photo. I always think that a black backdrop to color, especially flowers, makes for an elegant presentation; I like your thought about mystery. Aloha

yes, i agree, black can really make color pop. subtle or bold color either way. someone on that registration committee knew what they were doing. cool on that too. fun. aloha.

Lovely colors in your flower photo. Spring has been limping along here but picking up a bit of warmth and speed now, thank goodness.
