The malecon of Puerto Vallarta has a wonderful assortment of sculptures and design elements to feast one’s eyes upon. It’s not your typical beach city pier by any means, but a walkway with art.
This high-tech “sail” provides a great place to escape the hot sun, and enjoy a bit of the ocean view.
More of Poerto Vallarta please.

It will definitely spin around again on my Sunday travels. I loved it there.

I visited Puerto Vallerta some 20 years ago and loved. That “sail” must come in handy My souvenir of that trip was one heck of a sunburn. 🙂

Ouch! Not such a good souvenir. We were so careful with sunscreen because of the scorching sun…and we were there when it was late November a couple of years ago. I don’t think I would go in summer.

I visited Puerto Vallarta in the early 70s, before it was discovered by the world. I went with a group of students enrolled in intensive Spanish classes at a small, private college in Guadalajara. I’m sure the charming village has undergone a change owing to tourism. At the time I went, the hotel we stayed in was somewhat run down…homespun curtains riding the breeze that flowed through the open windows…dim lighting if memory serves me right. The cobblestone streets probably remain. hugs for bringing back memories…

It would have been interesting to see PV back then, but not too much has changed I think. The streets are still cobblestone, but the malecon has been changed dramatically just recently. A lot of new hotels, but mostly right outside of PV proper. Glad I could take you down memory lane.

An interesting view through the shade Angeline, as though on the bow of a ship.

That’s exactly what it reminded me of also. The swimmer in the surf was in the perfect spot.
