Photos taken with an iPhone 4s at the end of February a couple of years ago. I’ve already seen blossoming cherry trees in some of the neighborhoods around here. A herald of spring, though we’ve never really had winter this year.

Ow, Socal do have it, or was it somewhere else? The bloom here in Okinawa is not even as full as that.

I’m in NorCal, and I took the photos last year here in the neighborhood.

Ooops, I did mean NorCal. February eh. I might come up there in March.

That second shot is glorious, Angeline – all misty and chilly with the hint of spring … wonderful. 🙂

Thanks, M. I almost hate to admit that chilly is about as cold as it gets these days here.

I know – I think you life in the equivalent to me, here on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. We may not get ‘winter’ the way others do, but it’s all relative, and the trees know the difference, as do we, especially in morning. 🙂

Yes, it does get cold at night and early mornings, getting some mid-30s F here during night. But nothing like the mid-west and East Coast!

Ah – mid 30s? Here, as I remember it, we’d only rarely go below 40 – but that beautiful sunshine, from mid morning … bliss. Ten winters in Canada (plus a couple in Europe) is enough for me – I’m quite happy to remember the (occasional) beauty of winter – for me the romance has gone!

Like I said, chilly; but once the sun is up it warms right up. I thrive on this climate. I don’t think I could handle a winter with snow and freezing cold every day and every night all winter. If we want snow we go up to the Sierra for a few days.

I agree. Perhaps you’ve got the perfect spot! A little taste of snow for me is about a thousand miles away! 🙂

The snow/Sierra is just about 3 hours away from us, so yes, perfect.

I see the plowed fields in the back of the first one… ready for planting! Lovely choices!

Thanks! The feels await. It will be interesting to see what they plant, if anything. What with the water situation, I’m not sure if they will or not.

That’s right, you’re up north? We still have lots of fields planted and being planted and just harvested. It’s year round down here, and apparently the drought isn’t as bad.

Yes, in the Central Valley, about 60 miles east of San Francisco. You’re down in SoCal? I’m sure the farmers will try to make a go of it with what water they get. Should be interesting. Sad, though.

It is sad. Yes, SoCal… just southeast of Ventura. I used to live in Bakersfield… but then they’re always dry.

Ah…pretty area. We lived down in Orange County for several years, and I sorely miss it!

Thanks, Amy. Cherry blossom time is always such a good feeling time that spring is here, or at least right around the corner.

The second one really pulls me into its layers that lead to the purple hues in the background (clouds, mountains or trees?). Happy Phoneography Monday.
