Phoneography Challenge: The Nature of Snails

snail

A snail clings tightly

inside its spiral house

the greenery is good here

I took this photo, and after a couple of hours thought I’d go back out in the garden to try for a closer angle shot. It was gone! Nowhere in sight. Snails are not that slow.

The beauty of a snail is only becoming evident to me as I grow older. Gone is the disgust, replaced with wonder.

A great shot, Angeline. B&W really does highlight the glistening of its shell.

  7. Snails are pretty cool…. unfortunately they have this habit of getting underfoot and I have unfortunately crushed a few of them without intending to 😦 interesting light and pattern in picture 1 🙂

Snails do have a habit of getting underfoot. Terrible feeling and sound to hear that crunch.
The sun was overhead and I was able to get into the right position to catch the light. Snail art…who knew!

Snails are very nice to photograph as the contrast of the patterns/texture on their bodies and shell really comes through. I have one I call Snalien here http://stevemcp2002.wordpress.com/2013/09/20/weekly-photo-challenge-from-lines-to-patterns/

  13. The first is my favorite–the way the light grazes its shell. Very nice capture. Happy Phoneography Monday.
