Mornings. Amazing. Don’t laugh, you who have been out there every morning for forever. This is a new thing in my life, to greet the morning on an early walk to beat the suffocating heat we’ve had for the last week (104-106 degrees F every day). The sun just coming up casting light in a most beautiful way against trees and fields; that field wasn’t green yesterday, was it? And, look, the cactus is flowering. Watching the neighbors leaving the community on their way to work; a pickup truck rolls by with two yellow labs in the back, sniffing the air, a woman jogging on the opposite side of the street, a humming bird hovering over the cross walk checking me out. Peacocks crying out somewhere in the distance. It’s a morning full of glory.

I’m not a morning person…or wasn’t. I’m beginning to like it.

Early morning is my favorite part of a Summer’s day and your post hits the mark, Angeline. Your words and photo captured it perfectly.

What is there that is obscuring the lower right hand corner? From my experience, there is nothing better than taking a walk early in the morning.

I’m learning late in life that being out in the world in the early morning is pretty delicious. I’m not sure what I did to bring that haze into the right hand corner.

Beautiful! The heat sounds brutal though.

Thanks, Nicole. The heat has been unbearable; it’s 6:16 p.m. right now here and it is still 107 degrees! Cold front coming in though, it’ll only be 100 tomorrow.

Just think….it was 120 in Delhi and so many don’t have AC!!! I hate heat. I think it would be tough to endure it. But then again I live in a place that gets so cold. My theory is at least you can cover up! 🙂 Stay cool!!!

Have to agree, when it’s cold we can at least add layers.

One thing I like about the morning is that it is definitely cooler than midday.
