The soft colors captivated my heart, I’ve always loved sweet peas since first seeing them at a friend’s grandmother’s house when I was about 7 or 8. They spread across a chain link fence that just amazed me that something so beautiful could exist there in the heat of Texas.
Yes to all of the above. Burying your nose in the middle of a bunch of sweet peas is a delight. Try as I might I could never get them to grow very well in my garden but I can’t pass buy a bouquet at the market. The combination of colour and fragrance is irresistible.
I have not been able to grow them either; it’s always too hot where we’ve lived. I always enjoy seeing them though. These were at a Farmer’s Market in San Francisco.
Ah haven’t seen sweet peas in decades! I love the gorgeous soft colour palette.

We used to grow them up in the hills in the plantation gardens. They wouldn’t survive the heat here in our torrid plains.

That’s exactly why I can’t grow them here where I am. Summers are terribly hot, and my garden has not very much shade.

The colors roped me in. This is right out of the camera, too, no alterations. Nature is amazing.
