Ice plant. A succulent type plant with many different colored flowers that withstand the summer sun and heat. Perfect for the hot summers here in California’s Central Valley. It is also used in landscaping along freeways here in California. I like to use it in pots around the sunny areas of our back yard for a pop of bright summer color.
You can find more tagged I posts over on Frizztext‘s blog. I wonder if they use Ice plant in Italy.

Bright. As. Sunshine! I particularly like it in that blue pot, Angeline, though I’d probably droole over swathes of it alongside the highway. 🙂

I like the orange against the blue pot too. I first saw the highway lined in ice plant when we moved to the Los Angeles area years ago…couldn’t believe how beautiful.
Thanks.

Gorgeous! They are, not surprisingly, quite common here as well.

Thanks Madhu. Given their hardiness in hot weather, I bet they do very well in your neck of the woods 🙂

Pretty as a daisy. 🙂 That would make for a burst of cheery color in our tiny container garden.
