Day 360; Diamond Head Surfers

Our last day on Oahu. It was getting late into the afternoon, and I was getting that anxious feeling I always get on the last day I’m in Hawaii. I hate leaving, feeling tears not to far behind my eyes. We had a kind of late lunch and were trying to decide what to do in the last few hours here.Β One of those double-decker tour buses pulled up, headed for Diamond Head……..I grabbed my grandson and said “let’s do it”! We hopped on the bus and went up to the top level with just one other couple on board. The bus took off from Waikiki and headed up to the outskirts of Diamond Head; inside the crater was already closed for the day.Β  We pulled over at a lookout/parking area to be able to take photos. The view was breathtaking, but I was distracted by the surfers I have captured in these photos.

It was purely a gut instinct to jump on that bus this afternoon; it was the perfect way to end our stay here.

Great pictures of surfers. My favourite is the second one, very clean and gives a sense of both surfers and their environment. The colouration is beautiful.
