Weekly Photo Challenge: Foreign; Day 334

I realize this is not foreign for those living in Russia; I’ve never been there, soย this beautiful little babushka doll is something special for me, coming from a part of the world I will most probably never see. This was a difficult post; foreign is so subjective.

I used my iPhone 4s to capture these photos this evening.

Nice response. Matryoshka dolls are very pretty and delicately made.

I’ve been too crazy-busy to blog, Angeline, but I’ve been accessing yours periodically, and I’m enjoying you almost being at day 365. You’re soooo close now! How does it feel?

Hey there! Thanks for stopping in every now and again. I cannot believe it’s almost there. Feels great to have had the discipline to keep it going day by day. Some days I’ve wanted to not even get near my computer to put the post up, but I have continual excitement each day to find my subject matter, camera in hand. It has been a wonderful learning and refining process.

I love those nestled dolls too. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. That is one beautiful doll. It’s always enriching to discover the many toys and things from another country. I believe that each culture has a treasure to offer. Have a blessed day.

I like your point that foreign is subjective. I found this one difficult to work around

  7. Amy says:

Well said–Foreign is so subjective, Angeline! This one is a challenge. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Madhu says:

Love the interpretation! A babushka doll, is certainly foreign to me as well ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. I agree with you that foreign is so subjective, but a babushka is foreign to me too ๐Ÿ™‚

I agree Angeline. Foreign is so subjective. I do like theses photos though. Very unique little dolls!

  12. I couldn’t agree more, Angeline – it’s a real stumper! I like your solution – great idea ๐Ÿ™‚
