Day 315; Travel Theme: Animals

Presenting a few of the birds of Hawaii as part of Ailsa’s weekly challenge; this week it’s animals, to coincide with the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.
The Nene Bird is Hawaii’s official state bird
Another bird on the island of Kauai is the rooster; they are endemic and run wild around the island.
If you have men who will exclude any of God’s creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men. ~St. Francis of Assisi
Thanks, Ailsa for this week’s prompt

  1. Exciting entry with words of compassion and kindness. Animals have life and feelings. We humans should be sensitive to them. We are their guardians and yes, they are God’s creatures that we should protect.

I love birds…the are so majestic…even the little ones. As if they know something they aren’t telling you and it makes you a bit of a pleb because you don’t know

I love them too, especially the little ones. I have a band of sparrows who frequent the back yard bird bath and they are hysterical. I’ll have to post a couple of recent photos of the group I call the “rowdy boys” who come to play.
