I was out shooting photos of a barn down the road yesterday evening, when I realized I was being watched.
She was very curious about the person across the road walking up and down taking photos
It was love at first sight on my part
As I walked up and down for different views, the horse moved up and down the fence line watching me
I will go back to visit on the weekend, and go around the side of the corral where I think I’ll have access to touch my new friend, give her a little scratch behind the ears, and a rub on the nose.
Hasta entonces (until then), horse.
NB: “A Horse with No Name” is a song written by Dewey Bunnell and originally recorded by the band America.
She is looking at you with great intensity and curiosity. Perhaps she has a story to tell. Perhaps she wanted to tell you the ups and down of her journey. Great images! Have a blessed weekend.

Thanks IT. I think she did want to have a closer conversation with me, and I definitely would love to know what her journey has been.
Wishing you a restful weekend too! And hope your throat is better, be well.

Thanks CG. She was very curious about me, I think she had hopes I’d cross the road and give her a carrot or apple. I really do plan to go back and see if I can get close.

Thanks, Z. I was there right before sunset, so the lighting was perfect. I really have fallen in love with this horse.

And wasn’t it a great song – its rhythmic cadences immediately recollect-able (sorry, no word I know, but that’s what happened) even after the third word of your heading. And poor horse – so lonely, there by herself behind all that metal. Don’t forget a carrot for your new friend – she looks lovely.

I was just listening to it on YouTube…memories. Great story to how the story of the lyrics came to be. Check it out on Wikipedia.
There are several horses like this in barns/corrals that I see around here. I certainly hope they let them out to run in the fields every now and again! I just want to ride them out into the sunset. And I will take some carrots next time over to visit.

Mmmm – memories!
I suppose all those poor horses are waiting for someone to have time to ride them and visit them on the weekends!

I think probably so. I hope that they are taken out more than that, and it’s just that I don’t happen to see those times. I can’t wait until Saturday when I plan to go visit again.

You might meet some of the absentee owners 🙂

I think I will. There is a house right next door to this barn. I shall ring the doorbell and get what information I can if the people are home, including the name of the horse.
