Sometimes we just see things in black and white. I took this photo and knew that it would look great in black and white. It reminds me of black and white movies that always seem to have a little more je nais se quoi, than a movie in color. I don’t know why Casablanca keeps coming to my mind when I look at this.
Come back tomorrow, though, if you’d like to see the color version, and you be the judge. For now, I’m sticking to the Black & White to join in Jake’s photo challenge http://jakesprinters.wordpress.com/2012/08/18/sunday-post-black-white/

Very nice photo. Why did you choose to develop it in sepia and not B&W?

I thought it was black and white. Sepia, I thought, has more brown tones. Then, again, I’m new at this photography business.

i like the geometry intermingling with the leaves.

Thanks Marina. Yes, I think the straight lines with the flowing leaves inbetween set off a couter balance that makes it interesting. Glad you stopped by.

Beautiful Angeline! I think it is the picket fence that adds that vintage feel!

It is perfect for the black and white effect. It reminded me of the happy past filled with love and beautiful memories. Now, I’m getting nostalgic. Have a wonderful weekend.

Thanks IT. I think that is what’s so good about black and white…the feelings of nostalgia that it brings to mind. Hope you’ve had a good weekend too.

i’ll be interested to see, Angeline, but it’s a pretty monotone palate, isn’t it, with the cream pickets and pale steps, and the dark shadows. I love it.

Thanks Meredith. Let me know what you think tomorrow. But, I have to agree, the black and white version is my favorite…..I think.
