Weekly Photo Challenge: Unusual; Project 365, Day 109

My Mom painted this clay figure in an adult daycare craft session a few years ago; it sat on her dresser, and when she passed away it was one of the few things I kept. It took me awhile, at first, to figure out this was a bee. Mom had her own ideas about art and turned this into a Mexican alebrije; her Mexican culture was shining right through!  It now sits on my work computer monitor base.

If it sat on your mother’s dresser, it must have been something she truly valued. It’s wonderful that you were able to keep it.
Also, it’s quite a cute little figurine, isn’t it? 🙂
