I took this photo at San Francisco’s Aquarium of the Bay. I loved the dramatic contrast of the white jelly fish against the dark backdrop the moment I saw it.

jajja, that is so funny! Many years ago, I can’t remember were it was exactly but I want to say the aquarium in Albuquerque, NM had an area of sea life and they had a tank full of jelly fishes, the tank would turn colors and I had happen to catch the moment it went red, and my GOD the image is so awesome!!! I will see If I could find it, so you can see it… Great pic..

Nice shot! Anytime I’ve tried to take a photo inside an aquarium I get too much reflection of the glass. Very nice.

Thanks Laura. I was using my Droid, so I don’t know if that made any difference in the reflection, because that can be an issue.

I have tried to get some photos of similar from our local Sea Life Centers and it is very difficult, so well done, great capture.;)

Thanks! Agree it can be difficult. I took some recent fish photos in another aquarium and it’s hard to capture them because they swim by so fast.

Thanks for your comment about my contrast. I like your photo too; it’s so painterly, like ink blots. White ink on dark blue paper. Nature imitating art.

I love your thought about nature imitating art! It so does look like white ink on dark paper, great interpretation.

I like being at aquariums: it’s fascinating to see a world that we normally can’t observe.

Fish are so beautiful. It is good to be able to see them, even if not in their natural habitat.

It’s great they let you photograph inside the aquarium – didn’t think they’d allow that. You know “THEY”. A beautiful picture though – lighting is great, especially with the centre one the brightest.

Thanks. I always go in to a place with the attitude that if there is no sign that says no photos, I assume it’s ok, and go for it, unless THEY tell me otherwise. Sometimes THEY can be such a bother. Thanks for your visit.

Outstanding, love it. I’ve been meaning to get to the aquarium with my camera one day. You have motivated me to get it done.

Thanks Jeff. If you’ll look back to my Wednesday post you’ll find a few more fish from the aquarium in the lobby of Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
