We drove in to Oakland last Saturday afternoon, and as we got off the freeway I saw the Tribune clock and wanted a photo, but didn’t have my camera ready. That Universe is such a jokester. Guess what I saw when I looked out our hotel room window? Thank you very much!
Today I read about the Doomsday Clock with scientists moving the time one minute closer to midnight indicating we’re closer to doom.
Ha! I laugh in the face of the Doomsday Clock. My clock says it’s six minutes to Happy Hour.
It is officially Happy Hour.
Twelve minutes in to happiness…I’m not feeling any doom.
I say dump the Doomsday clock. The scientists could use a glass of wine. And a happy hour clock.

Oakland is an up and coming place. Actually made it onto a list of places to see in 2012 in spot #4…everyone is amazed at that, but lots of new neat restaurants and things to do.

Beautiful images. I miss scenes like this. I used to pass Oakland by bus from Sacramento 8 years ago. We would then ride a BART train that takes us to the Bay Area. My wife and I hope to come back to California in a few years, may be shorter. Love Texas but there’s something magical about California. Don’t care what they say about its economy. It has a lot of breathtaking places to visit that will let you forget about economics in an instant! Have a wonderful day.
