Day 14 of the 30 Days of Indie Travel Project
What’s your favorite quote about travel? Why does it stand out
to you?
Travel doesn’t have to be a marathon, a mind bending ordeal of rushing from airport to train station, from site to site. It shouldn’t be that way. That’s not what it’s about. Travel should put you at peace, opening your eyes to the wonders before you, opening your mind to all that is unfamiliar.

mind.” ~Rick Steves

Easier said than done I think. Maybe I should practice more 🙂

So true. It’s the opening of the mind to the unfamiliar that makes for real travel, whether one goes as a ”tourist” or a ”traveler” (personally, I don’t care about the distinction, heh).

They can call me a tourist or a traveler, whatever…I agree. Just as long as I’m out in the world somewhere on my own terms. And, yes, being open to the unfamiliar, and not trying to make the place you’ve traveled to just like home!!
