Foreclosure, Day 74; One Million

The number of homes predicted to be taken back by banks in 2010 is one million!  Incredible. Just the numbers in the first quarter of this year have increased according to the following article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100415/ap_on_bi_ge/us_foreclosure_rates

The article states banks are starting to work through their backlogs faster now so the numbers are increasing.  I’m thinking that this may also mean that people can’t hang out in their homes for free as long either before the bank comes knocking at their door. My gut is telling me that our moving out sooner rather than later may have been a good instinct on our part, and not letting the new place we’re moving to that we fell in love with slip away in order to stay in the current place rent free.

As my dear Mom always said, “everything happens for a reason”.
