About AngelineM

Passion for travel, books, and photography.  I live in Northern California with my husband, enjoying jaunts into nearby San Francisco, and roaming around the rural areas of California’s Central Valley with my camera at the ready.

I’ve recently given up the 9-5 life of the RN Case Management field I worked in,  to concentrate on the more creative side of my life via photography and writing, and to add a dash more travel to take it up a notch.

You can find the “A to Z” of me here

You can also see my photography on  my Flickr page, which you can find here http://www.flickr.com/photos/angeline_m/

Hi there! We’ve lived up in the Bay Area for quite a long time now. We had a wonderful little sojourn of five years down in Orange County, returning up here in 2007. We absolutely fell in love with OC and sorely miss it.

I have been following your blog for a while now. i was wondering if you can read Italian :-)

    • Angeline M says:

Because of my Spanish, and spending a very short time in Italy years ago, and some lessons in Italian before I went to Italy….I can pretty much get most of what is written in Italian. I need to study it again :)

  33. restlessjo says:

I just popped over to Matador to say hi. (out of curiosity!) I used to write a little on there too but the blog has taken over. Puerto Vallarta looks beautiful and I finally sussed where your header’s from.

    • Angeline M says:

Thanks Jo. I haven’t been over to Matador in awhile; funny, I just got a request to friend someone there this morning. I like their site, very comprehensive, but just seems more work to post something there than here on WP, and the friendships forged here have far outweighed the interaction with the Matador crowd. I tended to do more writing on Matador, though.

      • Angeline M says:

        Duh! It was you :)
I was just over to Matador’s site and realized you were the one to request friend status. I need to spend more time over there again. It’s confusing to get from one point to another on the site until I hang out there awhile. And everytime I go into the site, I fall in love with it again.

  34. supernova says:

Hi Angeline, I’m so glad to have found your blog and hope we can share opinions about things in the future. I will enjoy going through your blog, I like how you write and what you have to say. My best wishes and regards, James :-)

Thanks for you like of my post Mexico Maligned on http://www.travelbyterry.com. I am on a mission to improve the image of Mexico in the myopic press. Your pictures are stunning, by the way!

    • Angeline M says:

Thanks for the compliment on my photos Terry. I am also on a mission to convey the beauty of Mexico to the world at large north of the border. I tend to do that more on Twitter, than in my blog…and I know that needs to be changed a bit more.

  50. Angeline – For responding within your blog to what comprises every bit of every day in images and in thought expressed I’ve nominated you for the Kreativ Blogger award.

  51. Angeline, it’s Awards Season and I couldn’t not add your blog to my list of nominations for the Very Inspirational Blogger Award. I won’t be upset if you can’t find the time to play, but if you can, pop over to check it out: https://thewanderlustgene.wordpress.com/2012/05/31/confessions-awards-and-the-atlas-game/

  52. George Weaver says:

A really nice blog here, Angeline. The Caladium leaf got me. I like your work with the iPhone. Just enough post-processing to make them interesting, but not enough to make them strange.

    • Angeline M says:

Thank you George. The Caladium is actually the one (along with the last photo of the pine trees overhead) that I did not touch in processing…they are straight out of the camera. I’m trying to do just a few of really processed…I like the more natural look. Glad you stopped by to give me your thoughts.

  53. dilipnaidu says:

Howdy and good wishes. You have a lovely blog with interesting writings. Regards.

  54. Ninali says:

Thanks for stopping by, looking around and following my blog :) I am looking forward to seeing your travels and photos since getting anywhere with four kiddos is nearly impossible for me ;)

  55. scottrandall says:

Hi Angeline, great blog – we love the islands too and try to get there at least once a year – but we often don’t these days as some other good deal comes up:-). I really like your photo of the sculpture with the snow!

  56. Island traveler says:

“A little bit of the everyday…. ” The stories about us , of who we were and who we are now, our hopes and dreams, of the joys and pains. These are what draw us all together. It’s that one thing that connects the hearts and minds of the writers and readers, which we are both. I love how your blog unfolds, you are a good story teller indeed . Thank you for giving us a glimpse of your world and of the amazing person you are. Have a blessed day…

    • Angeline M says:

Oh my! Thank you so much for your compliment. I love WordPress for the venue it gives me to tell stories and share, but what I love most about it has been meeting all my fellow writers. You are quite the story teller also :) I’m so glad that we’ve met. Blessings to you and your beautiful family.

  57. Hi! I love the quote you have on your front page “A little BIT OF THE EVERY DAY…………A good writer is basically a story teller, not a scholar or a redeemer of mankind. – Isaac Bashevis Singer”.

It gives me a little bit more confidence about my writing.

I am really enjoying looking around your blog. The WordPress Photo Challenge breakfast looked luxurious!

    • Angeline M says:

Thanks Louise; when I found that quote it was my “aha” moment. We are all just here to tell our stories. That makes me feel free in my writing.
Glad you are enjoying my posts.

  58. tita buds says:

I’m glad you took time to look around my blog because I came here check out more of your posts and I LIKE it. :) I like your topic choices and how you write about them. Will be back, definitely. :)

  59. Thanks for visiting. I was excited when I read your about. There are several things we share in common like California (my last city was Fremont along the Bay area) , Texas, Traveling, lover of oceans and gardens, globally inspired and being a nurse. You’re an instrument of not just physical healing but of the mind and hearts as well through the writings you make. Looking forward to read your post. You have a .blog that spells inspiration and adventure.

    • Angeline M says:

Thanks for the kind words. I guess I’m a true Gemini, loving both Northern California and Southern California equally….and then there’s Texas. I read so many interesting things going on in the San Antonio and Austin areas lately, that I know that there will have to be a trip made sooner rather than later to go back home.Your blog name “the island traveler” has me hooked :)
