Ah, the blogging challenge stars have aligned once again at a serendipitous juncture. Two challenges tackled in one post. Jakesprinter has put forth his weekly Sunday Post challenge on Focused Attention. Cee’s Fun Foto challenge has offered us Wood, as part of her ongoing Chinese five elements challenge.
The first photo is for Jake. The photo directly above is a combo for Jake and Cee; and the final photo below is exclusively for Cee, the beautiful Koa wood of Hawaii that comes from the Acacia Koa Tree, endemic to the Hawaiian Islands. Photos were taken on Kauai and Oahu.

Thanks for the pingback! Very much appreciated.
A great twofer!
Thanks Naomi!
Angeline there is such a warmth to these images…the first one is so intriguing…it draws you in with her as she draws…wow
Thanks Jo. The young woman was so quick and adept at her drawing. I was mesmerized watching as she was drawing. And she is so beautiful!
Art does require a lot of focus. Great responses to the prompts, Angeline.
Thanks Imelda. Both artisans pictured were so focused.
Perfect
Love the high gloss on the wooden planter in the last shot. Is it lined with some waterproof material?
Thanks! No, that’s not a planter, the green you see behind the Koa vessel/urn is a reflection in the mirror of a plant that was in back of where I was standing to take the photo
I don’t know what they use to polish the wood into that sheen, but those pieces are always so beautiful.
Thanks Angeline for sharing your beautiful images my friend ,I love it
You’re welcome Jake. Thank you for giving us the springboard to showcase our photos.
I will Angeline every week even in my busiest hour like this time ,Thanks for sharing my friend I`ll be back
Couldn’t of had a better photo for Jake’s theme, focused attention!! Thanks for stopping by my site!
Thanks! So glad you stopped by to leave a comment. Your blog is great. We used to live down in Orange County…and we miss it a lot!
Beautiful Hawaii young lady!! Love the hand carved woodworks. Well done for two themes!
Thanks Amy. Isn’t she lovely? The man carving the wood does an amazing job.
