A Post Script To The Letter G ~ Guitar

I met Paul “Bullfinch” outside the courthouse yesterday. I was sitting on the ledge down a ways from where he came to sit. I saw him walk up with his shopping cart full of what are, I’m pretty sure, all of his earthly belongings. He took out his guitar from its case and asked if I minded if he sat near me to play.  We struck up a little conversation, and I asked him if he minded if I took a couple of photos of him as he played. The instant happiness and excitement on his face was heart warming. He asked if I wanted him to pose, or just “act natural”, and I assured him I wanted photos as he played, unposed.

Street life is tough, but made just a little softer with music and friendship.

A guitar can be such good company. It can seem like a human voice. Good for him that he plays guitar.
