The rural area of Northern California where I live is amazing in its blend of rural, and just a small dab of urban (very small); but of course the big box stores have sprung up on either side of the wood fence rails that were built who knows how many years ago, in an attempt to keep the cattle in, or out, as the case may be.
The fences have been left, I’m not sure why
But I’m glad, because I walk the line of these fences and revel in the beauty

Maybe the big box stores have sprung up to keep the cattle in or out…love the walk with you at lunchtime.
Probably keep them in…..the meat freezers. Glad you walk along with me at lunchtime!
nice photos..
Thank you Sania. Glad you stopped by.
Thank you for the fences. I so often see them as barriers, but you helped me see them differently here. As thresholds, and works of craftsmanship, and parts of a story.
Thank you for your visit, and comment! The craftmanship in these fences is beautiful to me.
A good theme…I will have to try it sometime
Thanks David.
When I am out hiking, I like to grab a pinch or two of those flowrs and eat them
They are black mustard and they taste pretty good. Sometimes I even take a small bag back with me and cook with them.
Hmmmm, maybe I could bag these up and sell them at the local farmer’s market
They are all over up here in NorCal.
