Why do what you will regret? Why bring tears upon yourself? Do only what you do not regret, And fill yourself with joy. ~Buddha
Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. ~The Buddha
I have no photos I’ve taken that represent regret, I’d rather not go there. I decided to interpret this week’s challenge a bit differently, more in line with my thinking on the subject.

Thanks for the pingback Mike. Much appreciated.
A very powerful post, this, Angeline! I’ve just popped by from Jo Bryant’s page for a little nosy… I’m glad I did!
Thanks Tom. I’ve become pretty passionate about not looking back. Glad you came over to visit.
Hi Angeline! I love the quotes. It is exactly what I needed to hear right now. Enjoy the now.
Cheers,
Louise
Thanks Louise. The now is all we have.
I like the way you interpreted this weeks challenge. It’s so full of hope and aspirations. Thank you for the quotes by Buddha. Yes, why regret when you can’t change the past anyway. Or even better why do something today you may regret later. We should learn from the past, but not get stuck there and wish things would have been different. A meditative and lovely post.
Thank you very much Otto. Learning from the past is important, and equally as important is taking steps to move forward and letting the past go.

Thanks for the mention on your post Jo. Much appreciated!
I love the way you think…a beautiful phot and beautiful quotes from Buddha…
Thanks Jo.
“Why do what you will regret? Why bring tears upon yourself? Do only what you do not regret, And fill yourself with joy. ” Buddha is truly wise with wisdom that brings happiness. I smiled when you wrote, “I have no photos I’ve taken that represent regret, I’d rather not go there.” There past regrets in my life that I wish never happened but like what Buddha said, “Fill yourself with joy.” I chose not to live in pain, in bitterness but instead embrace peace and joy. God bless you my friend. I’m going home next month….unfortunately only for a month..all well , I should be thankful not complain…
Doesn’t saying “I’m going home” sound delicious? And I think the preparation is half the fun.
And you are so right, “embrace peace and joy”. Go forward!

Thanks for the pingback Glenis. Thanks for the visit.
Beautiful. The ultimate goal we all must aspire to after we’ve mourned our regretful moments … is being Present. I agree.
Great perspective!
Thanks! I’ve really being working on turning negatives into positives.

Thanks for the pingback e. I really appreciate your support.
I’m still thinking about how I want to approach this week’s theme but I really like you’re thinking here. Why take photos of things we regret? Why look backwards? Well Done!
Thanks Laura. This is a lesson that has taken me a long time to learn. Always look forward!
That is a great philosophy, I am not sure I could be disciplined enough to live in the moment without dreaming of the future.
I think it gets easier as one gets older.
