We got on the elevator at the hotel and met a couple of guys that would be playing at the hotel’s bar that night. I laughed when we saw the turntable for records in one of their hands, and my grandson asked what that was. Explanations and laughter ensued, and then I remembered two record albums I have saved since 1967 or so.
One week later and I’m cleaning out closets and storage chests, and run across those two albums. My favorites of all time. The only two that have survived the multiple moves I’ve made in my life. The only two I thought enough of to keep (and I cry now at some that I got rid of).
The Beatles were something over the top for me in the mid-60′s. The only musical group that I went crazy about…. Quietly…the Catholic nuns at the school I attended didn’t think much of rock and roll. I used to watch the Ed Sullivan Show and see the girls screaming and swooning and wished I could let loose like they did at a rock concert.
Well hello Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club Band and Rubber Soul.

What wonderful memories… I loved the Beatles and their music too.
That was quite the era.
