Lunch With Sinatra

I was out on my daily walk a couple of weeks ago in the neighborhood at lunch time, and happened upon a house with a For Rent sign on the front lawn. I love looking at empty houses and always wonder who lived there, and what the stories are that took place there.

This one particular house was on a corner and had a lot of trees shading it. It looked warm and inviting; it was not too new and had character, and I felt that  it was a good place. Completely entranced by it, I walked around the back and peeked through cracks in the wooden fence to see the patio. Again, shaded by trees. I couldn’t quite figure out at first what it was that was drawing me to this house, and then I realized that the trees seem to be something akin to mesquite trees so popular in my home state of Texas. Yes, it reminded me of home.

But then I also realized that music was pouring out from the house next door. Frank Sinatra. I haven’t heard Sinatra in a while, he was singing “All My Tomorrows”.  That was what was pulling me in. “Today I may not have a thing at all except for just a dream or two
But I’ve got lots of plans for tomorrow and all my tomorrows belong to you.
Right now it may not seem like spring at all, we’re drifting and the laughs are few
But I’ve got rainbows planned for tomorrow, and all my tomorrows belong to you”.

I wanted to put a table and chair out in front of that neighbor’s house and just listen to Sinatra in the shade of those wonderful trees, and dream about our tomorrows.

Thanks Eliz….. Some lemonade and a little sandwich would have been really nice.
I was wondering if anyone would notice I removed the Worn post :) I wasn’t happy with it and removed it. First time I’ve ever done that.

Beautiful… and I hope the neighbor offers you some lemonade and a seat in the shade when the sun comes out… :-) What happened to your Worn post?
